Species Quotations
I believe we are still so innocent. The species are still so innocent that a person who is apt to be murdered believes that the murderer, just before he puts the final wrench on his throat, will have enough compassion to give him one sweet cup of water. Maya Angelou If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little. George Carlin An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so. Mohandas Gandhi Men and women belong to different species and communications between them is still in its infancy. Bill Cosby Let us beware of saying that death is the opposite of life. The living being is only a species of the dead, and a very rare species. Friedrich Nietzsche The reproduction of mankind is a great marvel and mystery. Had God consulted me in the matter, I should have advised him to continue the generation of the species by fashioning them out of clay. Martin Luther Is it not a species of blasphemy to call the New Testament revealed religion, when we see in it such contradictions and absurdities. Thomas Paine Our species needs, and deserves, a citizenry with minds wide awake and a basic understanding of how the world works. Carl Sagan Any reading not of a vicious species must be a good substitute for the amusements too apt to fill up the leisure of the labouring classes.
