The motion of a point, line, or surface about a point or line as its center or axis, in such a manner that a moving point generates a curve, a moving line a surface (called a surface of revolution), and a moving surface a solid (called a solid of revolution); as, the revolution of a right-angled triangle about one of its sides generates a cone; the revolution of a semicircle about the diameter generates a sphere. A total or radical change; as, a revolution in one's circumstances or way of living. Revolution Quotations
Every generation needs a new revolution. Thomas Jefferson The sadness of the women's movement is that they don't allow the necessity of love. See, I don't personally trust any revolution where love is not allowed. Maya Angelou Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. John F. Kennedy A revolution can be neither made nor stopped. The only thing that can be done is for one of several of its children to give it a direction by dint of victories. Napoleon Bonaparte A revolution is an idea which has found its bayonets. Napoleon Bonaparte It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. Henry Ford You cannot make a revolution with silk gloves. Joseph Stalin Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries, unite! Karl Marx The English have all the material requisites for the revolution. What they lack is the spirit of generalization and revolutionary ardour. Karl Marx Power is not a means, it is an end.
