Thomas Jefferson In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. Thomas Jefferson All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression. Thomas Jefferson If there is one principle more deeply rooted in the mind of every American, it is that we should have nothing to do with conquest. Thomas Jefferson Money, not morality, is the principle commerce of civilized nations. Thomas Jefferson Force is the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism. Thomas Jefferson At the center of non-violence stands the principle of love.
