I walked out of the show business in 1968 because I thought that would be good for the family. It took me some time to decide but I wanted to spend more time with my wife and two daughters who were always beside me. I wanted to do everything I could for them.

Pete Best I walked out with 14 advertising projects. Peter Max I walked to Seward School first through fourth grade. It's just amazing to me now that we'd walk down 10th Avenue on Capitol Hill. Stone Gossard I wanted to be a theater actress, but I thought it would be easier to get to New York and the theater if I had a name than if I just walked the streets as a little girl from California. Gloria Stuart I was a bartender in New York and I overheard this girl saying she made $3000 doing a commercial. A kid at work told me, 'Hey, I know this director and he'd really like you!'. So I walked into this guy's office and was like 'I was thinking maybe I could make $3000' and he hired me for commercials, short films, like 15 jobs in a row. Pauley Perrette I was feeling real good and real manly. Until a real cowboy walked by and told me I had my hat on backwards. So much for my career as a cowboy. Michael Biehn I was impressed by Hendrix. His attitude was brilliant. Even the way he walked was amazing. Ritchie Blackmore I was in awe every time I walked on to the field. Ryne Sandberg I was in my office when - on 9/11. I think I had a number of meetings scheduled. I was just getting to know the bureau. And somebody walked in and said the first plane had - or a plane had struck the World Trade Center, one of the towers. Robert Mueller I was in New York and I walked into this pet store and came out with a dog. Beverley Mitchell I was never looking back in regret. I never thought, Oh, why didn't I become an actress? or Why did I just go paddling along after John? I've always walked along right by his side, and he's always supported everything I do. June Carter Cash I was never the girl who walked down the centre of the hallway snapping people out of her way. Piper Perabo I was probably the best that ever walked this earth. And I could take a punch. I could deliver a punch. I didn't have the hardest punch in the world but my punches were sharp and they were crisp. And if you took too many of them, you would be knocked out. Larry Holmes I was with a famous comedian when a young fan walked up and asked for an autograph. The comedian blew him off. I'll never forget the look on the young boy's face. He was devastated. Louie Anderson I'd worship the ground you walked on if only you walked in a better neighborhood. Billy Wilder I'm not an historian and I'm not wanting to write about how I perceive the social change over the century as a historian, but as somebody who's walked through it and whose life has been dictated by it too, as all our lives are. Penelope Lively I'm the gooney bird that walked to the bank. I'm doing better than most of those guys who said I was crazy. Jimmy Piersall I've always walked and climbed; spent a lot of time in the arctic and places. Robin Day I've never really taken more than four days off, so it was a lot for me to go away for three-and-a-half months. I went all over Europe. I walked on a whole bunch of beaches and I did a lot of thinking. Puff Daddy If a cow walked into this room, I'd probably walk out. I could milk it, but my dad never forced me to do a lot of chores like that, mostly because he loved doing it himself. Stuart Appleby |
