I guess what bothers me so much about what I now see going on in both Washington and in Texas is an effort to keep people from finding out about the mistakes of lawmakers and then when they're uncovered, an effort to fool people and pretend there was nothing wrong.

Chris Bell I had been in so many towns and cities in America with John Kennedy, but I was not with him in Dallas, Texas, on November 21, 1963. Pierre Salinger I have two brothers buried in the military cemetery in Texas. I don't want to see any more of that. F. Murray Abraham I just want Texas to be number one in something other than executions, toll roads and property taxes. Kinky Friedman I knew more about Texas than the Texans and when they told me I would find summer here I smiled knowingly. Richard H. Davis I knew that when I resigned from the University of Texas that I would never coach again. Darrell Royal I literally paid my way through the University of Texas with my umpiring. Jim Evans I mean to say that Congress can hereafter decide whether any states, slave or free, can be framed out of Texas. If they should never be framed out of Texas, they never could be admitted. William H. Seward I remember just lying in the grass, staring at the clouds, wondering where they drifted off to after they floated over Texas. I never would have imagined that one day I would follow one of those clouds and find myself in Hollywood. Renee Zellweger I think Karl Rove saw that in George W. Bush early on and understood the impact that he could have on Texas politics and probably on national politics. Ed Gillespie I think that the very fact that CBS fought and fought and fought in Texas, in New York. Floyd Abrams I think the University of Texas has the chance to become the finest public university in the country. Tom Hicks I thought I knew Texas pretty well, but I had no notion of its size until I campaigned it. Ann Richards I was born in Texas and I lived there 'till I was 8. Then I moved to the Dominican Republic with my mom, lived there for two years and forgot every word of English I knew. Michelle Rodriguez I was lucky enough to get to see guys like Bugs Henderson, Jimmy Wallace, all those great Texas blues players. Dimebag Darrell I was raised all over. Kansas, Hawaii, Georgia, Texas and Kentucky, by the time I was 11. Jeri Ryan I was skeptical about doing Texas Chainsaw at first because it's such a cult classic. I'd seen some of the sequels and was not a fan of those. Jessica Biel I was trying to learn about Lyndon Johnson when he was young and creating his first political machine in the Texas hill country. I moved there for three years. You had to learn that world. Robert Caro I will provide friendly and courteous service and will work closely with all departments in the county. I will abide by the Texas Information Act in providing information to the public. Anne Grant I'd heard about Texas football and how much of a religion it is, but to go to Odessa and experience it first-hand is something different than just hearing about it. Jay Hernandez |
