Despite my emphasis on technology, I do not view laws as inherently evil. My goals are political ones, even if my techniques are not. The only way to fundamentally succeed is by changing existing laws. If I rejected all help from the political arena I would inevitably fail.

Bram Cohen Intel's still our main partner. We have not announced anything with AMD and don't have anything planned, but we're constantly being aware to make sure our customers get the best technology. Kevin Rollins Our markets have not achieved their great successes as a result of government fiat, but rather through efforts of competing interests working to meet the demands of investors and to fulfill the promises posed by advancing technology. Arthur Levitt The way you want to respond is to ask a question: Is this technology directly relevant to our hedgehog concept? If the answer is YES, then we want to become pioneers, not in the technology, but in the application of that technology specifically linked to our hedgehog concept. James Collins I have friends who have a CD mastering plant in Hollywood and they are very sceptical about European record labels' understanding of digital technology. Gavin Bryars The technology is just so far gone. It's just like back in the day you needed a suitcase just to have a cell phone. The battery was so heavy, it was like carrying a gallon of soda around with you all day. Jam Master Jay I was very much fascinated with the technology we had that we could edit in the computer our compositions, but all the sounds that were available on the market were crap. Miroslav Vitous If you think the technology is infeasible, you don't worry about what it might do and what its potential is. Ralph Merkle When CD technology first came out, it was just so much waste. Rick Danko I am a technological activist. I have a political agenda. I am in favor of basic human rights: to free speech, to use any information and technology, to purchase and use recreational drugs, to enjoy and purchase so-called 'vices', to be free of intruders, and to privacy. Bram Cohen I think we can allow the therapeutic uses of nuclear transplant technology, which we call cloning, without running the danger of actually having live human beings born. David Baltimore My graduate studies were carried out at the California Institute of Technology. Kenneth G. Wilson So the major obstacle to the development of new supplies is not geology but what happens above ground: international affairs, politics, investment and technology. Daniel Yergin As children, many of us were taught never to talk to strangers. As parents and grandparents, our message must change with technology to include strangers on the Internet. Judy Biggert My greatest concern is that the emergence of this technology without the appropriate public attention and international controls could lead to an unstable arms race. K. Eric Drexler Today, over half of China's undergraduate degrees are in math, science technology and engineering, yet only 16 percent of America's undergraduates pursue these schools. Cathy McMorris What new technology does is create new opportunities to do a job that customers want done. Tim O'Reilly We must safely secure our border by investing in more law enforcement and technology, and receiving cooperation from the Mexican government. Timothy Murphy Our technology is very scalable. Our software can accommodate enormous numbers of clients. It's a marvelous opportunity. We'll keep developing products. Jay Chiat Thompson and Ritchie were among the first to realize that hardware and compiler technology had become good enough that an entire operating system could be written in C, and by 1978 the whole environment had been successfully ported to several machines of different types.
