I love film and TV, the medium of them, just because it's such a smaller screen. It's much more precise. Ideally, I'd like to do maybe a film a year of some sort and use that to work more in the theatre because theatre really is my first love.

Shuler Hensley I love writing for the screen. Beth Henley I never fail to feel let down when I see myself on the screen. Alan Ladd I open myself up every time I walk on screen and give you everything that I am. There are parts of me that are in every movie that I've done. That to me is what my job is. Kevin Spacey I realized I really liked the screen. I knew it was a challenge, but I wasn't afraid of risk. Tom Selleck I remember all too well the premiere of Ecstasy when I watched my bare bottom bounce across the screen and my mother and father sat there in shock. Hedy Lamarr I remember being infuriated from the top of my head to the tip of my toes the first time a screen was put around Bob Carter and me on a train leaving Washington in the 1940s. Constance Baker Motley I remember right after Carter got elected, I was sitting in my apartment in Albany, CA, on a Saturday listening to people call Carter and ask stupid questions while I designed the screen editor. Bill Joy I remember seeing some little wrinkles in my early 30s and thinking they were interesting. But you know the horror of it is that the screen image has to be perfect. Claire Bloom I seriously object to seeing on the screen what belongs in the bedroom. Samuel Goldwyn I spend so much time on the screen when I am writing, the last thing you want to do is spend more time on the Internet looking at a screen. That's what I hate about all this technology. Irvine Welsh I think artists who are attracted to working on the Net will adjust their work to the capabilities of a very small screen. Laurie Anderson I think music is what takes the experience off the screen into your soul, into your head. Matthew Vaughn I think that basketball players should get the job done no matter how it looks on the screen. Oscar Robertson I think that I've been pigeon-holed by virtue of the fact that I've spent so much time in front of a green screen. Jonathan Frakes I think that the online world has actually brought books back. People are reading because they're reading the damn screen. That's more reading than people used to do. Bill Murray I think the fact that I'm so well known to be gay makes it very difficult to have a convincing relationship with a woman on screen. It wouldn't be at all difficult for me to kiss a woman - I'll kiss a frog if you like. Stephen Fry I think the long-term effect of video on cinema is good in that what we are now getting up there on the screen is of superior quality. Videos are just so much more sensitive to the world. Ann Macbeth I think there is a very quiet power in things that are not on screen. Guillermo del Toro I was mad at Screen Gems, but I'm not mad at them anymore. Davy Jones |
