I like the fact you can spend two hours setting up a scene that will only last a couple of seconds. And I like just sitting around and dozing between scenes!

Mackenzie Crook I like to rehearse with the actors scenes that are not in the script and will not be in the film because what we're really doing is trying to establish their character, and good acting to me is about reacting. Jim Jarmusch I liked a lot of the scenes I did with Ryan Phillippe. Kieran Culkin I love to do very long and complicated scenes. Catherine Deneuve I loved being behind the scenes and finding out how they make movies. Samantha Mumba I met a hustler at a dinner party. He had been invited because I was looking for an adviser to help me with the street scenes. So we put him on the film. John Schlesinger I never do any television without chocolate. That's my motto and I live by it. Quite often I write the scripts and I make sure there are chocolate scenes. Actually I'm a bit of a chocolate tart and will eat anything. It's amazing I'm so slim. Dawn French I only have three scenes and each is a turn and she gets progressively drunker. It's all terribly funny and its main challenge is that it's so far away from what I usually do. Louise Jameson I only storyboard scenes that require special effects, where it is necessary to communicate through pictures. John Boorman I played a definite part in it. I guess the things that I played in films and the way the nudity and the love scenes were handled were really different. Bo Derek I really enjoy the consolation when I'm having to cut loose stuff I love, of saying 'Well, at least it will make it onto DVD.' There's a couple of scenes which I liked very much, but couldn't fit them into the film that are on there. Jay Roach I remember laughing an inordinate amount of time. Setting up scenes that involve ooze coming out basements, or pigs' heads flying through windows is really fun. How could you not laugh? Margot Kidder I think explicit love scenes are a turn off unless it's the kind you read with one hand. Colleen McCullough I think good radio often uses the techniques of fiction: characters, scenes, a big urgent emotional question. And as in the best fiction, tone counts for a lot. Ira Glass I think the first thing I did was several scenes from Romeo and Juliet. Sally Field I think the motion picture industry is a stupid business and I despise acting the scenes in short snatches, one at a time. I hate this film work. I am disgusted with myself. On the stage I could never play a part unless I felt it with all my heart and soul. Conrad Veidt I think there are a lot more relationship scenes in my movies that people tend to overlook. A lot of scenes really feel real and are about the characters. Jan de Bont I think we've shot scenes from every angle directors can think of to make it look like different villages. I've directed a couple shows on that set and believe me, it's impossible not to duplicate some camera angles. Vic Morrow I tried to make every bit of it as creepy as I could. And I had the same response you do. I feel the same way. The hospital scenes, that procedure was so real. William Peter Blatty I try not to do scenes a certain way, because then I become conscious of it, and it dosen't come off as realistic. I try to make it so that I'm not really aware of what I'm doing. Kirsten Dunst |
