I don't know how anyone could vote Republican. It's so obvious that their only interest is keeping the rich rich.

Vivian Campbell I feel the whole issue has been a witchhunt from day one as part of a broader Republican political agenda. Kojo Annan I filed the ethics complaint against Tom DeLay not because I'm a Democrat and he's a Republican or even because he drew me out of my congressional seat but because he engaged in corruption to further his plans to disenfranchise voters in Texas. Chris Bell I hate government. I'm apolitical. Write that down. I'm not a Republican. Bruce Willis I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends... that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them. Adlai E. Stevenson I knew if I waited long enough, the Republican Party would rock. Michael Reagan I know that my Republican colleagues are as ashamed as I am that the United States is forced to borrow over $1 trillion from foreign nations to pay for our national priorities like reconstruction of the gulf coast and the war in Iraq. Dennis Cardoza I mean I look forward to the day when I can be Republican again. John Perry Barlow I mean, we are facing so many very, very important issues and those are the issues that you heard talked about last night from the Republican convention, and that you'll hear my husband talk about. And those are the really important issues facing our country right now. Laura Bush I prefer, in a word, the republican system, because it comes up more nearly to God's system. Gerrit Smith I read a funny story about how the Republicans freed the slaves. The Republicans are the ones who created slavery by law in the 1600's. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves and he was not a Republican. Marion Berry I realize that the majority of people in the entertainment business happen to be Democrats. I have no problem with that. And they should have no problem with the fact that I'm a Republican. Shannen Doherty I recognize the Republican party as the sheet anchor of the colored man's political hopes and the ark of his safety. Frederick Douglass I say this as a Democrat, for whom the Republican domination of government threatens many values that I hold to be important to America's role as a light among nations. But there are no values that matter to me that will not be gravely endangered if we lose this war. Orson Scott Card I speak directly to the people, and I know that the people of California want to have better leadership. They want to have great leadership. They want to have somebody that will represent them. And it doesn't matter if you're a Democrat or a Republican, young or old. Arnold Schwarzenegger I think it's a tremendous opportunity, particularly given the complexion of the overall voter structure in California. It's very hard for a Republican to get elected. Mike Curb I think one of the great problems we have in the Republican Party is that we don't encourage you to be nasty. We encourage you to be neat, obedient, loyal and faithful and all those Boy Scout words, which would be great around a campfire but are lousy in politics. Newt Gingrich I think that the justices were totally answering the way that they should. I think that the senators, as best I could tell, for the most part, Democrat and Republican, respected that. Fred Thompson I think we need one recognized, respected public figure to make a tough, blunt statement on just what Reagan's record is and what he might do to the country, let alone the Republican Party before Christmas. Robert Teeter I think we're probably more unified than ever before because we're in a battle for survival. Not only for survival as the Republican Party, but survival of the check and balance system in our government. Bill Scott |
