Reproductive choice has to be straightened out. There will never be a woman of means without choice anymore. That just seems to me so obvious. The states that changed their abortion laws before Roe are not going to change back. So we have a policy that only affects poor women, and it can never be otherwise.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg The people who make policy decisions should damned well know what they are talking about before they make the decisions. There is nobody who is an expert on cloning who would be afraid after seeing Attack of the Clones. Kevin J. Anderson I will make a general statement that we have not had anything like the policy of holding people in high office responsible for their acts that I think we should. William Odom When you see how the President makes political or policy decisions, you see who he is. The essence of the Presidency is decision-making. Bob Woodward I just did not discuss my personal life, my sexuality with the media. That was my policy. Greg Louganis I have here in my hand a list of two hundred and five people that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department. Joseph R. McCarthy There's a policy now of opening the doors to the outside world. Hanoi Hannah Some newspapers have a hands-off policy on favored politicians. But it's generally very small newspapers or local TV stations. Bob Woodward Domestic inflation reflects domestic monetary policy. Martin Feldstein As for the promotion of peace congresses we have had our meetings and assemblies, but the promotion through them of the determined and effective will to peace displaying itself in action and policy remains to be achieved. Lester B. Pearson The stark and inescapable fact is that today we cannot defend our society by war since total war is total destruction, and if war is used as an instrument of policy, eventually we will have total war. Lester B. Pearson I reflect back 35 years ago, and look how far we have come in America with our environmental policy to improve the conditions of our air and water, and we have had some real successes. Jay Inslee Some may seek revenge, but this is not our policy. Joe Slovo From this experience we have learned that in a big party it is important to have the necessary and often controversial discussions on policy issues such as the health system while in opposition. Angela Merkel This strategy represents our policy for all time. Until it's changed. Marlin Fitzwater During the days of segregation, there was not a place of higher learning for African Americans. They were simply not welcome in many of the traditional schools. And from this backward policy grew the network of historical black colleges and universities. Michael N. Castle You want to keep intelligence separate from policy. Bobby Ray Inman Days will prove that the assassination policy will not finish the Hamas. Hamas leaders wish to be martyrs and are not scared of death. Jihad will continue and the resistance will continue until we have victory, or we will be martyrs. Ahmed Yassin There are lots of other issues in policy including the stem cell issue. David Baltimore If the militarily most powerful - and least threatened - states need nuclear weapons for their security, how can one deny such security to countries that are truly insecure? The present nuclear policy is a recipe for proliferation. It is a policy for disaster. Joseph Rotblat |
