I guess the two Manifesto, Communicating Vessels, Mad Love, and some of his poetry made a significant mark on me but as far as bringing a literary element into the music I see it as a much broader assimilation.

Trevor Dunn I hold that the mark of a genuine idea is that its possibility can be proved, either a priori by conceiving its cause or reason, or a posteriori when experience teaches us that it is in fact in nature. Gottfried Leibniz I love this country, I love these people, though I can't say I love their politicians. People are always nicer than politicians, but here, you can mark that difference up a hundredfold. Paddy Ashdown I mark a script like an exam, and I try not to do anything under 50 per cent. Similarly with the part. And also film is a peculiar thing, parts don't necessarily read in script form anything like as well as they can do when it comes to materialising. John Hurt I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to. Mark's happier. I'm sober. There are still phone calls to be made, people I need to say something to. But everyone from Creed who I've offended or hurt, I ask for their forgiveness. Scott Stapp I think Gadhafi is on the mark. And up until this point in time, I think they truly want to turn this around and become a positive player with the West after years and years of terrorism and stagnation. Curt Weldon I think it's the mark of a great player to be confident in tough situations. John McEnroe I want my music to leave an indelible mark. Roger Miller I won't say that the papers misquote me, but I sometimes wonder where Christianity would be today if some of those reporters had been Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Barry Goldwater I worked at Mark Foy's during the day and studied drama at night. Rod Taylor I would rather miss the mark acting well than win the day acting basely. Sophocles If it is the mark of the artist to love art before everything, to renounce everything for its sake, to think all the sweet human things of life well lost if only he may attain something, do some good, great work - then I was never an artist. Ellen Terry If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Immortality is to live your life doing good things, and leaving your mark behind. Brandon Lee Impatience is the mark of independence, not of bondage. Marianne Moore In all affairs it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted. Bertrand Russell In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place, and in the sky, The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard among the guns below. John McCrae In passing, we should note this curious mark of our own age: the only absolute allowed is the absolute insistence that there is no absolute. Francis Schaeffer In the olden days, everybody sang. You were expected to sing as well as talk. It was a mark of the cultured man to sing. Leonard Bernstein Instead, it appears to be a particular mark of beauty that it is considered with tranquil satisfaction; that it pleases if we also do not possess it and we are still far removed from demanding to possess it.
