I've seen people that don't treat their animals well and yet their animals are still just as loving to them even though they're not treated that well. It's very hard to find that kind of loyalty and love and affection in human beings.

Dick Van Patten If equal affection cannot be, let the more loving be me. W. H. Auden If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. George MacDonald If we are genuinely committed to promoting a culture of peace, as individuals we must look to our values and ensure that we all exhibit a peace loving life to our nation's children. Silvia Cartwright If you aren't good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you'll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren't even giving to yourself. Barbara de Angelis If you resolve to give up smoking, drinking and loving, you don't actually live longer; it just seems longer. Clement Freud If you wish to strengthen your confidence in God still more, often recall the loving way in which He has acted toward you, and how mercifully He has tried to bring you out of your sinful life, to break your attachment to the things of earth and draw you to His love. Alphonsus Liguori In comparison with a loving human being, everything else is worthless. Hugh MacLennan In every loving woman there is a priestess of the past - a pious guardian of some affection, of which the object has disappeared. Henri Frederic Amiel In everyone there sleeps. A sense of life lived according to love. To some it means the difference they could make. By loving others, but across most it sweeps. As all they might have done had they been loved. That nothing cures. Philip Larkin In itself, homosexuality is as limiting as heterosexuality: the ideal should be to be capable of loving a woman or a man; either, a human being, without feeling fear, restraint, or obligation. Simone de Beauvoir In loving his own productive, generative, generous love, God loves all those ways in which that love can be realised in creation. Rowan D. Williams In order to be an image of God, the spirit must turn to what is eternal, hold it in spirit, keep it in memory, and by loving it, embrace it in the will. Edith Stein In the evening of life we shall be judged on love, and not one of us is going to come off very well, and were it not for my absolute faith in the loving forgiveness of my Lord I could not call on him to come. Madeleine L'Engle Instead of loving your enemies - treat your friends a little better. Edward W. Howe Intercessory prayer might be defined as loving our neighbour on our knees. Charles Bent It is one of the severest tests of friendship to tell your friend his faults. So to love a man that you cannot bear to see a stain upon him, and to speak painful truth through loving words, that is friendship. Henry Ward Beecher It is the element I miss in electronic music - no performance, no loving immersion. Maybe that is why I was never particularly drawn to electronic music. Lukas Foss It is wonderful how much time good people spend fighting the devil. If they would only expend the same amount of energy loving their fellow men, the devil would die in his own tracks of ennui. Helen Keller It's important to talk about loving yourself and looking at your tragedies and the stuff that makes you grow. Anne Heche |
