The last copy of the Chicago Daily News I picked up had three crime stories on its front page. But by comparison to the gaudy days, this is small-time stuff. Chicago is as full of crooks as a saw with teeth, but the era when they ruled the city is gone forever.

John Gunther The last movie I did, I was very lucky: I got to work with probably the best actor of our era, Billy Bob Thornton. He's just incredible. I was like a sponge: I soaked up everything he had to say. Tim McGraw The Olympic Games of the Modern Era began in 1896 in the city of Athens. Bill Toomey The ones I have got great necks; of course, all of the Fenders from that era are incredible. John Fogerty The passionate controversies of one era are viewed as sterile preoccupations by another, for knowledge alters what we seek as well as what we find. Freda Adler The statistics of life out there and the statistics of intelligent beings and advanced civilization is a certainty, the way I look at it. that It has not been accepted, because we've been in an anthropocentric era. Story Musgrave The unphilosophical majority among men are the ones most helplessly dependent on their era's dominant ideas. Leonard Peikoff The Victorian era is the sexiest age for me, but I also like a woman in a pair of jeans. Dylan McDermott The video game culture was an important thing to keep alive in the film because we're in a new era right now. The idea that kids can play video games like Grand Theft Auto or any video game is amazing. The video games are one step before a whole other virtual universe. Vin Diesel The war was the end of an era, in art as well. And we were trying to create a new philosophy. Douglas Sirk There are a few people, but a diminishing number, who still believe that Marxism, as an economic system, off era a coherent alternative to capitalism, and socialism has, indeed, triumphed in one country. Herbert Read There have not been children of comparable youth in the White House since the Kennedy era. Pierre Salinger There was a very serious communist strain among American intellectuals before the war. America was a more tolerant place in those days, and Communists were not treated as pariahs. That ended with the McCarthy era. Ken Follett There was never a golden era of American radio as far as I can tell. Michael Stipe They try to say this era was a tainted era. But so many great players played in the last 15 to 20 years. This is going to be the best era in the history of the game in my opinion. Rafael Palmeiro This is a perilous time, and more than ever, the world needs a united and strong America. If, God forbid, we live to see Mr. Obama president, we will live through a socialist era that America has not seen before, and our country will be weakened in every way. Jon Voight This is an era of violent peace. James D. Watkins This is just the beginning of a new era for America's workers. James P. Hoffa To me, 'Blackberry Way' stands up as a song that could be sung in any era, really. We do it with the new doing all sort of fanfare things in it and it works really well. It goes down great with audiences. Roy Wood To the extent that '60s guys own things, yes... but I don't have the publishing, just like most '60s guys, and that was an error, you know... part ownership in publishing was the kind of era that started a little bit later, when real businessmen started to manage artists.
