I was fortunate to be part of a very successful show on CBS in 1986. I switched to NBC for eight years and through these experiences have gotten terrific insight into television; it's a fascinating medium.

Will McDonough I was in Sweden for 10 days. They put me on the front page of the daily papers eight days in a row. I did nothing to warrant any of the attention. It was ridiculous. Johnny Thunders I was in the main draw from the start, my opening match was on Court One against Jan Eric Lundquist of Sweden who was about eight in the world at the time. John Newcombe I was not the kind of a principal player that was so in demand that eight or 10 or 12 scripts came per month. Sidney Poitier I was rapping at eight. Nick Cannon I was six years old when I saw my first Godard movie, eight when I first experienced Bergman. I wanted to be a director when I was fourteen. Julie Delpy I was so obsessed by this problem that I was thinking about it all the time - when I woke up in the morning, when I went to sleep at night - and that went on for eight years. Andrew Wiles I was the conductor of the Underground Railroad for eight years, and I can say what most conductors can't say; I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger. Harriet Tubman I was working at this club in downtown L.A. from four to eight at night, just Eddie Rubin, the drummer, and I. Johnny Rivers I went away when I was 9 to a ballet school. I thought I wanted to be a dancer, but eight years of ballet cured me of that. Juliet Mills I went into rehab December 14th, 1996, and got out eight months later? Then I went into a sober living place where I stayed for three months. I've been clean for a good year and a half. Marc Wallice I went to an art school in Brooklyn and painted Fine Art, if that's what you'd call it for eight years in New York, until I saw the first underground comics in the East Village Other. Bill Griffith I went to Cuba maybe eight or nine times. Walter Salles I went to work. That was a turning point. When you have to do eight shows a week and your name is on the marquee, no matter what is going on at home or what's on the cover of the newspapers, you've got to do your job. Marla Maples I wish I had eight pairs of hands, and another body to shoot the specimens. John James Audubon I work eight hours a day, but I'm not writing all that time. I'm thinking, editing, looking something up. Thinking is what I do a lot of. Barbara Taylor Bradford I would also like to act, once in a while, but not get up every morning at 5:30 or six o'clock and pound into the studio and get home at 7:30 or eight o'clock at night, or act over and over and over every night on Broadway, either. Jackie Cooper I would not be gotten into a schoolhouse until I was eight years old. Nor did I accomplish much after I started. I doubt if I had gone to school six months in all when my father died. I was fourteen at the time. Sam Houston I write about it in the book and, you know, explain that. But that was the technicality that actually got my sentence reduced - that Alan Dershowitz used to have my sentence - it came down eventually to eight years. Jim Bakker I wrote eight full-length adult novels in my twenties. None of them were published. Caroline B. Cooney |
