I got to draw monsters, robots and write funny stories. I loved doing that stuff and working with the actors. But it got to be less and less that stuff and more about trying to be everywhere and not being able to do one thing very enjoyably.

Jhonen Vasquez Well, I didn't know how to draw very well back then, in the '40s and '50s. Lawrence Ferlinghetti If Everton were playing down the bottom of my garden, I'd draw the curtains. Bill Shankly Believe it or not, I can actually draw. Jean-Michel Basquiat I can paint and draw. I believe this myself and a few other people say that they believe this too. But I'm not certain of whether it's true. Gustav Klimt I draw a weekly comic strip called Life in Hell, which is syndicated in about 250 newspapers. That's what I did before The Simpsons, and what I plan to do for the rest of my life. Matt Groening General Grant had no fixed plan of campaign beyond the general idea to avoid the strong defensive line occupied by General Lee behind Mine Run, and find a way to draw him out to open battle. James Longstreet There is nothing wrong with going to bed with someone of your own sex. People should be very free with sex, they should draw the line at goats. Elton John I think people should be free to engage in any sexual practices they choose; they should draw the line at goats though. Elton John Respecting other people's cultures is well and good, but I draw the line at where some branches of Islam, what they do to women. It's indefensible. Jello Biafra What I would do is when I was younger I would draw in a sketch book something that happened in my life and then write a little something on the side about what happened or what the story. Robert Redford I think I'm most proud of my family right now. I'm more into that then I've ever been. It also gives a new area to draw from in creativity with my songs. Merle Haggard A civilized nation can have no enemies, and one cannot draw a line across a map, a line that doesn't even exist in nature and say that the ugly enemy lives on the one side, and good friends live on the other. Thor Heyerdahl I would still like to have that luxury, to be able to just sit and draw for hours and hours and hours. In a way, that's what I do as a writer. Amy Tan The Chinese government is quickly losing its ideological legitimacy, maintain its rule with force, but cannot draw strength from the ideology of Marx and Mao. Steve Forbes I went to school for about 2 years on a technical course, and I learned a lot. I learned about air mixture ratios and all the stuff; I learned how to draw blood. Tom Araya I understand that it's hard for everyone, but one cannot give in to emotions... we'll have to draw lessons from the current crisis and now we'll have to work on overcoming it. Boris Yeltsin When I travel, I draw and paint sketches which is great fun. And as long as you are fully aware that it has nothing to do with actual art, I think that's all right. Arne Jacobsen In our own time it has been seen... that simple children, roughly brought up in the wilderness, have begun to draw by themselves, impelled by their own natural genius, instructed solely by the example of these beautiful paintings and sculptures of Nature. Giorgio Vasari I subscribe to the myth that an artist's creativity comes from torment. Once that's fixed, what do you draw on? David Byrne |
