I have been under considerable pressure to buy at least a laptop computer. I have always turned the suggestions down for the reason that I have never done creative work on a typewriter. There is to me a lack of empathy.

Winston Graham I have not proved that the universe is, in fact, a digital computer and that it's capable of performing universal computation, but it's plausible that it is. Seth Lloyd I have several computer companies. One of them I have a program for wide-format printing. I have a beauty program. So I have several different programs that I own for printing. Jerry Mathers I have the instruments, ideas, technology, computer techniques. We try to create or see something, which has not been known before - just to discover something together. This is always my dream. Lennart Nilsson I just recently did a film with Disney, and they put the drawings straight on the computer. And it's all painted on the computer now and not by hand anymore. Gerald Scarfe I just want to keep creating stuff, work regularly and learn how to use a computer properly. Paul Putner I love my little Mac G4 computer and we just had Internet installed on the bus... we all have little Macs actually, there's four of us on the bus, and we all just sit there and surf the Internet! Lee Ann Womack I love what I do, so it's not tiring. If I worked at a computer or drove a truck, I'd be dead in a week. Karen Black I loved logic, math, computer programming. I loved systems and logic approaches. And so I just figured architecture is this perfect combination. Maya Lin I said, 'Okay, it's the year 2000, I'm getting a computer and a Palm Pilot.' I know how to check my e-mail, and I've listed some phone numbers on it. Half the time the battery has gone out so I can't use it. Marc Jacobs I see the player piano as the grandfather of the computer, the ancestor of the entire nightmare we live in, the birth of the binary world where there is no option other than yes or no and where there is no refuge. William Gaddis I should prefer to have a politician who regularly went to a massage parlour than one who promised a laptop computer for every teacher. A. N. Wilson I spend my life essentially alone at a computer. That doesn't change. I have the same challenges every day. Dan Brown I started on an Apple II, which I had bought at the very end of 1978 for half of my annual income. I made $4,500 a year, and I spent half of it on the computer. Bill Budge I thank God for not making me a computer scientist. Daniel J. Bernstein I think a lot of the time these days people are so concerned about having the right camera and the right film and the right lenses and all the special effects that go along with it, even the computer, that they're missing the key element. Herb Ritts I think computer science, by and large, is still stuck in the Modern age. Larry Wall I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image. Stephen Hawking I think games are starting to branch out. It's not just guys sitting at their computer stations. Games are so fun, that everybody gets into them a little bit. Christian Slater I think that an artist is a bit like a computer. He receives information from the world around him and from his past and from his own experiences. And it all goes into the brain.
