You can do really slow movements with it, like zooming in for a minute and a half. The audience isn't aware that the camera has moved, but there's subconscious tension there.

Mike Figgis I work primarily for the camera-it's not something I really talk about a lot, but it's part of the way I am as a movie actor. The camera is my girl, as it were. Terence Stamp I didn't need the insurance. I do it again if my DP tells me it didn't look good in the camera or if the actors didn't hit their marks. But if everything was working why do it again? Debbie Allen You play a part, and as soon as a movie is over and the camera stops, you go home and you're not really responsible for what you've done. Nastassja Kinski We had a script that was really solid and we knew how we were going to shoot and how the energy of it was going to go. So it gave us a lot of freedom to use the camera as a character. Marguerite Moreau If this validates anything, it's that learning how to bunt and hit and run and turning two is more important than knowing where to find the little red light at the dug out camera. Ryne Sandberg You talk about what a director, he was smart. He said, Turn the camera on! Peter Falk Audrey Hepburn's face was made for the camera. Christine Baranski The camera relieves us of the burden of memory. It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us. Yet no other god has been so cynical, for the camera records in order to forget. John Berger Your camera is the best critic there is. Critics never see as much as the camera does. It is more perceptive than the human eye. Douglas Sirk I have been taking classes and I'm familiar with stage, but I'm not as familiar with acting on camera. Kevin Richardson The nude scenes were a little eerie and I felt a bit odd. Yeah, when the camera scanned up my body, I said to my friend, 'Now, that's a close-up.' I mean, you see every inch of my body. But I'm okay with it and so it was cool. Natasha Henstridge Being a shy person, I always felt strange outside with my camera. Kim Weston Film and television is just a different technique in terms of how to approach the camera but basically the job is the same; but what you learn as a craft in theater, you can then learn to translate that into any mediums. Joe Morton I would love to work with Adam Sandler. Because then all I'd have to do is just turn the camera on and off. David Zucker There's always going to be that pressure when you're in front of the camera. When you're famous it's just an extreme version of reality and there's a pressure to look a certain way. Geri Halliwell It's kind of dangerous to cut in the camera, but that's the only way I know how to direct. Debbie Allen A movie camera is like having someone you have a crush on watching you from afar - you pretend it's not there. Daryl Hannah It was a scene I was really looking forward to, and one that I embraced, and when we were filming it, George got closer and closer and closer with that camera - he was practically up my nose for the final shot. So I knew it was a moment that I had to do my best to get right. Ian McDiarmid When I watch a film I get swept away. I don't really watch the camera. William H. Macy |
